Ann Arbor, MI— Pete Thomas, the Season 2 At-Home Winner of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” outlined “7 Secrets for Winning at Wellness and At Life” with employees at the Oakland Schools Intermediate School District in Waterford, Michigan on Thursday, April 28, 2011.  Pete’s high-energy keynote address kicked off a 4 week “Commit to Get Fit” physical activity challenge sponsored by HealthPlus of Michigan.

Pete shared 7 essential components for success in wellness and gave practical suggestions for making small, immediate changes that will lead to big results in one’s health and life.

“I was very impressed with Pete’s speech and the “7 Secrets for Winning at Wellness and At Life” that Pete shared.  That’s something I hadn’t ever heard before,” stated Meg McMahon, Human Resources Manager for Oakland Schools. “It’s a great kickoff for our Commit to Get Fit program and our wellness partnership with HealthPlus.  If people follow what he said during the meeting, we are going to have great success with our wellness partnership!”

“Riveting!” was the response expressed by Tom Barnes, Early Childhood Development Project Coordinator and Co-Chair of the Wellness Department for Oakland Schools. Barnes went on to state that Pete really connected with the staff. “Pete’s message was very common sense and his delivery was wonderful.  He was very energetic, kind and funny.  He really kept everyone’s attention!”

Heather Odinga, who also co-chairs the Wellness Department stated, “It was wonderful.  Pete got everyone motivated.  He was able to deliver a very meaningful speech while keeping it funny, light and something people can relate to.”  When asked how well she thought Pete reinforced the goals of the event, Odinga had this to say:  “He let people know about the Commit to Get Fit 4 week challenge, but more than that, it was about a challenge for the rest of your life—To make sure you set goals and attain them forever…”
